PAID ADVERTISING PAID FOR BY COMMUNITY ZONING GROUP AN OPEN LETTER TO THE CITIZENS OF WOODLAND PARK Elected city officials and city employees have decid- ed to disregard the interests of our community and turn Woodland Park into Woodland Trailer Park A group of concerned citizens have been fighting city approval of the proposed Village at Tamarac, a community of small 'manufactured' houses (approx 500 sq. ft. each) which will be permanently affixed to a foundation. These look like mobile homes (same size & shape), are packed together like mobile homes, and the small lots are rented (99-year lease) like a mobile home park. The proposed development has been deemed 'af fordable housing' and 'alternative housing. In real ity, these homes will cost approximately, $2000 per month (structure loan +land rent) for owners to lives in the space of a one car garage. City staff and elected officials approved this project based on a loophole that conflicts with the clearly stated intent of the site zoning, and despite numer ous code violations This community belongs to residents and taxpay ers; are we willing to let city staff make decisions which degrade our lifestyle, disregard our concerns, and violate the values, beauty and character of our town? It's time to reclaim our rights. Please attend and support our appeal to the Board of Adjustment on Sept. 11, 2019, 6:30 pm at City Hall. We need your support to help reclaim our citizen and our property" rights! If this project is allowed to proceed, then 300 units could be constructed on 19 acres adjacent to High way 67 with many more to come elsewhere in Woodland Trailer Park.
