The Teller Park Early Childhood Council (TPECC) Celebrates Provider Appreciation Day on May 12th! TPECC will join national, state, and local community partners in celebrating Provider Appreciation Day- an annual celebration to express gratitude for our childcare professionals, all of whom are dedicated to the growth and safety of our children. Join us in showing appreciation to our childcare professionals not just today, but every day! The holiday is celebrated each year on the Friday before Mother's Day throughout the United States and around the world as a "thank you to the people who educate, support, and spend a tireless amount of time with our children. Together with our network of early childhood stakeholders. nonprofit and business partners, we invite you to join us in thanking and celebrating childcare providers across the nation. At TPECC, we are grateful for all the early childhood providers who make learning happen and serve their communities by providing high-quality care. TPECC works alongside the providers to improve the quality of early learning, increase access for children to comprehensive health care and mental health services, provide families with meaningful community and parenting supports, and deliver resources to early childhood professionals. We work together with our local partners to improve the quality and availability of early childhood services for children and families in their communities. Provider Appreciation Day was started in 1996 by a group of volunteers in New Jersey, who saw the need to recognize the dedication and commitment of providers who care for children of working parents. Support for this event has grown each year and recognition presently includes early care and education advocates, community-based organizations. government entities, business leaders, and individuals throughout the United States. The childcare profession is the most underpaid and underappreciated occupation, yet childcare is the most important infrastructure for working parents in Southeast Colorado, Childcare is an essential service that deserves recognition. We are encouraging Teller County residents to take this day to show childcare providers how much we appreciate them. There are many budget friendly ways a parent, grandparent or business can show a provider their appreciation. Send them a handwritten thank you card, give them a gift certificate for a meal at a local restaurant, or give them flowers to plant in their garden. However, you decide to express your appreciation remember to THANK THEM FOR ALL THE WAYS THEY CARE FOR OUR CHILDREN! Teller Early Park.
